Job Title: Sales Engineer

Job Brief

As Sales Engineer, you will work closely with clients and the sales team to introduce and promote the sales of   ’s cyber security service offerings. The Sales Engineer is the first line of contact with all new clients and along with their sales team, the Sales Engineer establishes and maintains long-term business relationships with new and existing customer base in regard to sales.

This position requires complex engineering knowledge and strong communication skills to be able to make technical recommendations on product and service solutions. A highly entrepreneurial sense of urgency along with a passion for the industry is desirable, along with a drive to grow both personally and professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in sales meetings with prospective clients
  • Understand and interpret customer requirements – speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs
  • Identify and resolve client concerns; recommending a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future through provision of our technical solutions
  • Expand market awareness of our products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products and services effectively
  • Use company CRM to maintain records of customer communications and contact information as required
  • Create and deliver technical presentations, webinars and demos for current market offerings
  • Prepare technical responses to RFP (request for proposals) and RFI (request for information)
  • Maintain awareness of pertinent client information and future plans; communicate any client information that may affect company decisions to appropriate departments as needed
  • Keep up to date with cyber security vendors, technologies, industry regulations and business drivers
  • Maintain knowledge of competitor products and identify and report intelligence on competitor pricing or marketing strategies
  • Maintain current product and service knowledge
  • Participate in corporate marketing activities, such as conferences, trade shows and open house and client hospitality events, as required
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Knowledgeable about security vendors, technologies, industry regulations and business drivers
  • Excellent knowledge about Managed Security Services/SIEM
  • Experience working with CRM tools
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with high energy level
  • Self-starter, results- and success- oriented with the ability to follow through on commitments
  • Proven solid analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all departments
  • Strong presentation skills and professional appearance
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule when necessary
  • Ability to occasionally travel and attend sales events or partner events
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle

Work Experience/Education Requirements

  • 5+ years related experience as a Sales Engineer in the Cyber Security industry
  • IT related undergraduate degree preferable or equivalent experience
  • Experience selling security services or complex security software such as SIEM and Forensic technologies preferred
  • Industry experience within finance, insurance, legal, healthcare, retail, resources, energy or real estate desirable
  • CISSP, GIAC-GPEN, or similar certification considered an asset
