Compensation Consultant

My client a top financial institution is looking for a Compensation Consultant.

Must haves include:

  • 6-10 years of professional experience in compensation with a financial institution or a consulting firm
  • Experience in compensation governance and executive compensation
  • Strong Analytical skills, understanding of compensation models and knowledge of various regulatory requirements and compliance.
  • Very strong with MS Excel and V-lookup.


This role reports to the Manager, Compensation Advisory and will be responsible for compensation governance – creating plan documents, designing compensation policy, board reporting and the annual risk assessment. You will also b responsible for Senior Executive Team compensation – plan review and the annual compensation cycle.

Ensuring governance review of all compensation programs

Developing needs-specific modelling, analysis, and compensation decision tools and templates for both end users and the Enterprise HR team.

Streamlining compensation processes.

Assisting in developing various reports: Board education sessions, business performance metrics review, plan design and implementation, compensation forecasting and other governance reports.

Annual compensation disclosure.

Responsible for market intelligence for Executive compensation

Lead the annual compensation cycle (Year-End) for the Senior Executive Team.

Qualifications / Key skills:

  • Post-secondary degree and/or the equivalent combination of education.
  • CCP designation would be an asset, not a must-have.
  • Excellent mathematical and quantitative analysis skills with the ability to calculate a variety of financial and compensation modelling.
  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving ability.
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of financial services industry/business an asset
