Our Client, a high-achieving, professional and friendly place to work, is looking for an Investor Relations Director. 

The Opportunity 

The Investor Relations Director will be the key connection between the company and the investment community on issues affecting the company’s overall estimate and investment thesis. The individual will also develop an impactful strategy to support the company’s existing investors, stakeholders, and analyst base. The Director will apply their exceptional analytical skill to understand and explain complex financial issues. Working collaboratively with a wide range of internal stakeholders, they will lead a vigorous process to quickly develop a clear and compelling story for the investor community. 

Responsibilities

• Developing overall Investor Relations outreach strategies
• Developing annual and quarterly targeting analysis and messaging strategies
• Working with operating units to ensure full understanding of results and drivers to produce analysis that explains results from an external viewpoint
• Preparing quarterly messaging materials (investor deck, conference call script, Q&A)
• Building relationships with shareholders and the investor community, research analysts
• Leading, coaching, and mentoring the Senior Analyst, Investor Relations
• Have the interpersonal skills needed to work effectively with senior executives across an organization.

• Develops a deep understanding of the company’s financial and operational matters, as well as a solid knowledge of the industry, current trends, and competitive positioning
• Drives continuous improvement in external disclosure and quarter-end processes
• Establishes strong business relationships with external stakeholders, all business units, and with the senior leadership team
• Work effectively in cross-functional teams and be comfortable interacting regularly while maintaining positive working relationships with seasoned investment professionals external to the organization.
• Successfully engaged, aligned, and enabled an executive team of a major corporation to develop a powerful investor relations program and strategy.

Knowledge and Experience 

• 10+ years of experience in investor relations and/or across the broader Finance function
• A collaborative attitude that helps position the management team well within the investment community.
• Have the interpersonal skills needed to work effectively with senior executives across an organization.
• A data-driven, solutions-oriented, decision-maker.  
• Experience managing investor relations for a listed company of scale
• Experience in buy- or sell-side roles in capital markets, equity research, and/or investment management
• In-depth knowledge of the food or consumer products industry in Canada
• Proven ability to shape the narrative of a company with analysts and/or investors
• Experience managing other professionals, ideally within Investor Relations
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
• Strong analytical skills and financial acumen
• Possible MBA, CFA, and/or CPA designation
