JOB TITLE:  Supervisor of Trade Support

REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, Trade Support

 

Our client, a well-established Canadian Corporation seeks a Supervisor of Trade Support. 

 

The Role: 

In this role, the Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the Trade Services and Daily Banking functions. Responsibilities will also include processing and settlement of all Syndication related activities.  You advocate service excellence and work to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our clients.  Working closely with team members to resolve any outstanding issues that may arise.  

 

Responsibilities 

 

  • Ensuring teams are meeting SLA targeted cut-off times throughout the day for money movement and Securities/New Issues and related processing and settlements.
  • Execute Separately Managed Account rebalancing and provide trading assistance to advisor’s inquiries  
  • Assisting to prioritize large volumes of requests, ensuring trade adjustments and trade error exposure are actioned accordingly in a timely manner.
  • Processing internal cash/security transfer for a non-registered account, updating book value request
  • Coach/Develop/Training team members in day-to-day duties including regulatory requirements, industry knowledge, communications, and firm policies and guidelines.
  • Supervision of the Syndication desk.  Oversee the distribution and allocation of new issues to advisors.
  • Working with senior management to create monthly and quarterly reports on key trading, investment, and risk metrics. 
  • Conducting research and quality control on defunct/delisted securities  
  • Assisting the Senior Manager of Trade Support with projects and day-to-day functions when necessary.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Undergrad degree in Business, Economics or Finance 
  • CSC, CPH, IIROC licensed is an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of the securities industry and industry regulations.
  • 7 – 10 years of similar experience within the investment industry and working with IIROC member firms and knowledge of the independent dealer channels.
  • Familiar with Dataphile, Croesus will be an asset 
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and Microsoft office products 
  • Dedicated team player with the ability to take initiative and work both independently and as a strong Team player.
  • Excellent communication, people, and organizational skills
